Wrap Sessions for Children | Behind the Scenes | Ayrshire Baby Photographer

New sessions! I love to try new things!  I wrap newborn babies but figured why not wrap older children for those who have missed out on newborn images?  The kids love it, and it's so much fun creating these pieces or art!

So, what was my inspiration for these sessions? It's no secret that I would love to have newborn images of my own girls......but sadly I don't.  My girls are now 8 and 5 and love to get involved in my work so I asked them what they thought about doing a newborn photography styled image of their own.  I can't tell you just how excited they were about the prospect of this.....so we quickly got to work on planning how, when and what colours we were going to use.  The girls chose their own set-ups which made them extra special and something that I'll be encouraging children to do when I roll these sessions out.

Behind the Scenes

First up was Bronte........she thought being wrapped was absolutely hilarious (it was) and was so cosy that she wanted to stay wrapped up!  I made a rookie error with this one because I wrapped Bronte in the living room and then realised that it was near impossible to lift her and carry her wrapped into the studio.  There is no photographic evidence of me almost breaking my back and breaking sweat trying to move her from one room to the other!!!!  Once in the studio, Bronte took her role very seriously and posed like a little professional.

And then on to Harriet...... This time I did my wrapping in the studio (lesson learned).  Harriet's main challenge was trying not to laugh when I was taking the picture! I got my shot though!
