As a newborn photographer, it's always very exciting to have the opportunity to photograph twins! Twin sessions can be a challenge, but that's one the things that I love most about them. When I work with twins, I always have someone (usually another photographer) assisting me. In this particular session I had the lovely Lauran Cooper helping me out with handling and settling the babies with me and holding the first baby in position whilst I pose the second. As with most of my newborn sessions, I begin with the babies fully wrapped. This helps to settle them into a deep sleep before the beanbag poses and ensures that I have a number of set-ups photographed and guaranteed before undressing baby which increases the risk of them wakening. The twins in this session, Liam and Emma, were born a number of weeks early on Christmas Day, but were still teeny little sleepy 6lb'ers when I photographed them in January. They were so well behaved. Often when I photograph twins, when posing them one can move and waken the other, but these two loved to snuggle in together and were completely settled when they were posed together. Here are just a few of the images that were included in their gallery. I hope you like them! Not to forget the infamous Star Wars image..... (you can read about how I achieved this image here in my previous blog). After the wrapped shots, we move over to the beanbag and unwrap the babies. This is where the fun begins........ ;-) I like to photograph all of the little fine details..... I love it when babies waken at the end of the session so that we can capture their eyes open and the cute little faces they pull for me. Often at this point in the session we will capture images of stretches and yawns.....these are always a favourite with mums and dads and for me it's the perfect way to end the session. It also lets me have a nice little chat with the babies and tell them how great they have been!!! So there you have it.......another of my sessions! Please note that this is only a small selection of the images.....we also did shots of both babies with mum, with dad, and the family all together.
