I'm a newborn and portrait photographer, photography judge, and mentor based in Ayrshire, Scotland. For over 15 years I've specialised in newborn photography, helping families create beautiful images of their babies while ensuring safety is at the heart of every session.
I am proud to be Scotland's only Master Craftsman in Newborn & Baby Photography with The Guild of Photographers. I was also awarded Newborn & Baby Photographer of the Year and Overall Photographer of the Year, alongside multiple Image of the Year awards.
But the achievements I am most proud of are the photographers I have helped along the way.
Mentoring has played a huge role in my own journey. Whenever I wanted to improve a particular skill, refine my workflow, strengthen my editing, or simply find fresh inspiration, I invested in learning from those who had already achieved what I aspired to. Those experiences helped shape the photographer I am today.

1-2-1 ONLINE NEWBORN MENTORING - £100
Whether you dream of of a full-time career as a newborn photographer, are struggling to find your signature style, or just need to refine your already great work, training and mentoring with a newborn photography trainer can be the key to increasing your confidence and achieving your goals.
Online mentoring has played a huge part in my success, and throughout my journey I have found that having a trusted newborn mentor has really helped to boost my confidence and has challenged me in the areas that I've needed to focus on and improve. This is why I would now like to give back and support others to improve and achieve their newborn photography goals. My 1-2-1 mentoring options allows us to build a trusting relationship, gives me the opportunity to support you over a period of time and watch you grow as a photographer as we set goals for you and work towards.
In my online mentoring sessions, we will work together to improve and refine your images. I will ask you to send me a selection of your images in advance, which I will critique for you before we go through them on a shared screen in your session. I will talk you through the changes that you can make with regards to lighting, styling, posing and editing and show you where and how your work can be improved in easy to manage steps.
If you would like to focus on a specific aspect of your photography, such as editing, I can teach you my workflow and methods of editing, including live editing with you in Photoshop.
Single 1 hour session - £100
Block of 3 sessions - £250
Block of 6 sessions - £450
1-2-1 STUDIO NEWBORN TRAINING - £550
My 1-2-1 sessions take place in my home studio in Ayrshire, however if you prefer to learn in your own environment with your own equipment, I can arrange to come to you (subject to agreement of additional travel expenses dependent on distance).
This intensive 1-2-1 training day (10am-4pm) is completely tailored to your specific needs, which we will discuss in advance of your session.
Training will include:
✓ Newborn safety, Settling techniques and use of spotters
✓ Building trust with parents
✓ Studio lighting - including metering and white balance
✓ Wrapping techniques
✓ Styling and colour palettes
✓ Beanbag and Prop Flow Posing
✓ Editing in Photoshop
N.B. 2-2-1 sessions are also available at a cost of £400 per person.
**Unfortunately I am unable to mentor anyone within a 30 mile radius of KA1**
