I've had this little guy for almost a year now, so I feel it's about time to introduce you.......Meet my SIB (StandInBaby™)! I bet you're wondering what the heck this doll is all about? Well, SIB is what I use to test out all of my new ideas and is an absolute godsend! It simulates a newborn model for me as best as a doll possibly could. It's jointed, proportionate and weighted like a newborn baby and gives me a model to work with 24/7! The geek in me loves to practice new ideas! Sometimes I'll have an idea in my head, but when I photograph it it doesn't look how I imagined it, so SIB lets me try everything out behind the scenes to make sure I have each set-up just how I like it before clients arrive. I like to know which colours are going to work together best, and the best angles to photograph new props and poses. I've given you a little example below of how I recently used SIB to come up with the best colour combination for a new blanket. If you made it this far (thank you!), I hope you've found this insight a little interesting and are reassured that I do a whole lot of practicing behind the scenes and not on your little ones!
The final image of Baby Albie in this set-up just melts my heart!
