Phoebe | Ayrshire Newborn Photography

As I pull baby Phoebe's newborn images together for this blog post, I actually have to pinch myself that newborn photography is now my full-time career.  It doesn't feel that it was very long ago that I was sitting at a desk working as a business analyst and then more recently as a corporate performance officer number crunching and report writing which, let's just say, wasn't the most fun I've ever had in my life!  Fast forward six months, and this week alone I have photographed 5 newborn babies.....completely overtaking my dream goal of two sessions per week!  It's just so amazing (and a little bit overwhelming as to how fast things are moving!).

Anyway, enough about me and more about the beautiful baby Phoebe!  Phoebe was an absolute dream to photograph and had the most amazing head of hair!  As you can see from her images below, we covered a few different set-ups in her session, including family and sibling images.  Phoebe's daddy is a firefighter and her parents requested an image of her in his helmet, which made for a very interesting and tricky prop shot.  To achieve this I took an image of the helmet on a fine art background and then took an image of Phoebe posed in the helmet whilst being fully supported by both parents.  I then pulled this together as a composite image in Photoshop (you can see an example of this here).

I hope you enjoy looking through the images below and I hope that they give you little insight into the work that goes in to a gallery of images.  Please note that the images below are a very small sample of images from Phoebe's gallery.  I've selected a few neutrals, a few colour, some black and white, and sibling/family shots to give you a little feel for what you can expect in my sessions.  Two of Phoebe's images also won Bronze Awards from the Guild of Photographers....you can check out the award winning images here.

Whilst you are here, I'd like to give Jillian Greenhill the recognition that she deserves.  She's the person behind my training, my inspiration, and who has undoubtedly got me to where I am right now.  Jill is a baby photographer based in Abu Dhabi, but came to Manchester in January 2015 where she trained me in newborn posing and newborn safety.  Jill continues to support and mentor me from afar and her photography still wows me on a daily basis.  Please check out her amazing images here.  She's a star!!!
