I thought that I would write a quick blog on how to prepare for your newborn session with me.
Firstly, please know that my newborn sessions are incredibly relaxed and I hope that you will feel completely at home in the studio within a minute of arriving! When newborn babies arrive at the studio they are typically between 5 and 12 days old and usually it is their first proper family outing. Having had two babies myself, I am extremely aware of how stressful it can be to get a new baby ready, pack a change bag and be out of the house before 10am, therefore to help with this I send information to parents before their session, talking them through the very few essentials that they should bring and hopefully answer any questions they may have..
If you have a session booked with me, I email you a Welcome Pack and a colour preference form as soon as you inform me that your baby has arrived and we have arranged a date for your session.
The Welcome Pack includes everything you need to know......such as the address of my home studio in Kilmarnock, how long the session may last, when is best to feed baby before the session, when to bring siblings along, what to wear etc. Here is a little peek inside at a few of the pages......
I hope that this is both helpful and reassuring if you are considering booking a session with me. I add to and update the Welcome Pack frequently therefore if I have a question asked by parents that isn't covered in the pack, I make sure that I add it in there incase it would be of benefit to other mums and dads in the future.
I am currently taking bookings from March onwards. Please visit my website for further information. www.lynneharper.com/newborns
P.S. It's nice to be nice....please pop over and have a look at the lovely Dawn Martin Photography's work. She is a newborn baby, family and wedding photographer based in Glasgow that I've recently discovered. She has some great blogs on her site.
